WPI Chapter Research Awards and Induction Ceremony

The ceremony was held at the Great Hall in Higgins House at WPI on Thursday, April 12, 2007. This year Tracey Vincent from our Materials Science and Engineering program was inducted as an associate member,

Eric W. Overstrom, Professor and Head, Department of Biology and Biotechnology; Director, WPI Life Sciences and Bioengineering Center at Gateway Park, gave the Keynote address on "The Eggs and I: The Serendipity of Discovery Biology".

Tracey is originally from Scotland and came to WPI in 2005 to pursue her PhD. She is currently doing research with Professors Isa Bar-On and Christopher Brown on a project regarding length-scale path length of electromagnetic propagation. Path length relates to transmission loss; this is a significant design driver within the telecommunications field.

She has been very busy combining her studies with her work as an Electronic Engineer at Barry Industries. She will be our next Stoddard Fellow this coming fall as she continues her present research project.

Congratulations!
