XETEX 425A DOSIMETERS
Instructions
This dosimeter is an accumulating dosimeter. It will indicate the dose (mR) accumulated
since the last reset of the unit. The accumulated dose will be displayed (mR) when
the read button is pushed. The unit must be "ON". The unit will alarm when
the accumulated dose (mR) exceeds a pre-determined level, or the dose rate (mR/h) exceeds
a separate set point.
These dosimeters have a provision (not installed on the units at WPI) for a separate memory that will
keep the accumulated dose during the time the device is "OFF". Additional dose will
not be recorded during the "OFF" period.
There are six control or adjustment settings available:
- ON: Located at the top left rear next to the clip, this slide switch turns the unit on.
- Moving the switch to "OFF" will result in loss of the accumulated dose reading.
- RESET: To the right of the clip, on the rear, pushing in with a ball point pen will reset the memory and test the audible alarm.
- (Reset when you enter the lab.)
- READ: On the upper left front panel, press to display the accumulated dose in the top window (with unit "ON").
Note: DON'T poke anything into the hole next to the display window...the alarm is located here.
- INTERNAL SETTINGS: These require the removal of the case for adjustment.
- EXPOSURE ALARM: At lower section of board, set the three wheels to the desired warning level.
- (Choose 10 mR for general laboratory use.)
- RATE ALARM: At top left of board, set two wheels for the dose rate alarm.
- (Choose 5 mR/h for general laboratory use.)
- CALIBRATION: A dip switch with six channels is located at the center of the board, and is used
for calibration of the unit.
These settings should not be changed in normal operation. (They are used during calibration of the
instrument).
