On Thursday, April 20, 2006, Dr. Eraldo J. de Silva gave a seminar to MFE graduate students and faculty members as well as professionals from local companies, on Analysis of Grinding Strategies Applied to Automotive Crankshaft Manufacturing. Eraldo is currently a postdoc research fellow at our CAM-Lab, working with Saint Gobain Abrasives, Worcester, MA.

Professor Takashi Matsumura from Tokyo Denki University visited our CAM-Lab at WPI on October 12, 2006. He gave a seminar to Manufacturing Engineering graduate students and professors as well as local industrial professionals. Professor Matsumura introduced his new research progress on Micro Fabrication for Functional Surfaces.

Professor L. C. Zhang from University of Sydney, Australia, visited CAM-Lab of WPI and gave a seminar on Surface Finish of Ultra-Precision Components: Some Fundamental Aspects in Materials and Mechanics.

Professor Rong gave a Materials Science and Engineering (MTE) seminar at WPI on October 25, 2006. He introduced the MQP in China and discussed the difference of culture and education systems as well as the impact on our engineering education processes.
