WPI’s International Seminar and Tutorials on Surface Metrology and Applications
26-28 October 2009, on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts
Objectives
- Provide educational opportunities at all levels of surface metrology
- Disseminate advances and insights in surface metrology fundamentals, methods, equipment, software, and applications.
Intended for:
Engineers, Scientists, Technicians and anyone else who is interested in surface roughness and surface metrology and applications at any level and in any field.
Surfaces cover everything
The measurement and analysis of surface roughness has applications in many fields including:
- engineering (all branches)
- manufacturing
- bio-medical
- food science
- anthropology
- chemistry
- physics
- biology
- art conservation
- geology
- geography
- metrology
- and others
Key dates:
- 21 August: Abstracts for tutorials, oral presentations, and posters are requested
- 21 August: Propose Tutorials
- 4 September: Notification of acceptance
- 4 September: Reservations to exhibit are requested
- 4 September: Last day or early registration
- 8 September: Program posted on web site
- 19 October: Papers for on-site proceedings due
Venue:
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 100 Institute Road, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, the cradle of the American industrial revolution and the birthplace of modern rockets. Sixty miles West of Boston, served by airports in Boston, Manchester, NH, Providence RI and Hartford, CT.
New England in October is a very beautiful place. If you wish to relax while you are in the north east there are several opportunities:
